It Works! July 30, 2008 Katie Scarlett 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have seborrheic dermatitis and it was making my hair fall out. This is the only thing that worked. Make sure you leave it on for 5 minutes so the shampoo has time to work. It's a good idea to get a few different shampoos and rotate them. I'd also get one with Tar such as Neutrogena T/Gel.
The only thing that helps for me! May 17, 2008 C. A. Campbell (roswell Ga) If i'm having a serious scalp issue i use it every day. It is gentle on my curly dry hair, it feels like a conditioning regular shampoo. Slight medicinal smell which goes away. If i'm just doing maintenance on my scalp i use it every other day, and in between use a moisturizing shampoo.
I am no longer flaky :) April 5, 2008 J. Geist Okay.. here goes. I could have sworn I already reviewed this.? I had some serious scalp problems. Tried all the shampoos.. including Nizoral and some prescription stuff called Clobex which is very dangerous to use according to the package insert. None helped me. I tried this as a last ditch effort. It totally cured my problem. I would have literally pieces of my scalp, about the size of a pencil eraser, coming loose on my head... very gross and disturbing. After one use of the Clobex script shampoo I was so afraid to use as because it can cause your adrenaline system to shut down.. I never used that again. I tried this special Head and Shoulders not expecting anything more than any other OTC shampoo. First I noticed the smell.. some say it smells like a dryer sheet... I say it smells like sulphur.. stinky gas mixed in with a masking fragrance. It took me a long time to get used to that. I would keep smelling this icky smell all day and realized it was my head. I am either used to it now, or it's changed a little bit in the bottle. Now the good part. I have been using this for about one year now. I have NOT had one flake in that entire time. No joke. Nizoral usually helps me but this time it didn't. It took about 4 shampoos with this product until I was totally better. It tells you to rinse for at least 5 minutes on the label. I used to, now I don't. I rinse just like I always did. I don't use it on my entire head of HAIR, just the scalp. I think it's a little drying on my colored hair. I put some in my hands and rub them together and apply it to scalp only. I can honestly say that this is a fantastic product. I have used many bottles of it. My scalp is clear and feels good. If a prescription won't help you, or you just want a last ditch effort before you cry in your pillow, try this! I worked miracles for me. I think the price is fantastic for what it is. I paid around $8 for mine... well worth it. So my review is a 4 out of 5 because of the smell. Try this shampoo, and if it doesn't work, you can always squirt it in your yard to chase away moles with the smell. HA!
